DO OR DIE...

Lou Pinella got upset when a reporter asked if last night's game was a "do or die" game. He said it wasn't because the Cubs have Rich Harden going in Game 3 and Ted Lilly in a possibe Game 4.

Well, now it is "Do or die," even if Lou doesn't want to use those words. Every game from here on out is.

Stunned is about the only word to sum up the first 2 game of the series. Dempster loses all control in Game 1, and the Cubs commit 4 errors in Game 2. One by each of the 4 infielders. All should have been routine plays.

The Cubs had the best team all year long. I think they are better than the Dodgers, but the pressure has just caught up with this team. Every player on the team says they don't think about the 100 World Series drought. However, I think they want to win so badly for the fans and the organization that it is affecting their play.

The team sense tense and tight. They aren't making routine plays. They aren't hitting the ball.

Let's hope this off day allows them to relax, and they come out and play the way they did all summer on Saturday night.

We traded for Harden for a reason. It's time for someone on this team to step up!

Let me start off saying that I literally wanted to cry. That was just embarrassing. I think they said all four infielders making an error in the same game hasn't happened since the 60s. That's just sad. These guys just need to relax and what better way than to take a trip to LA. Leaving Chicago and all the negative feelings is the best thing for the team. I expect that Harden will do his job and shut down that offense and the Cubs will score enough to win. Game 4 scares me though because all the talk is about curses with the Cubs and LA will have Maddux going. Could there be a new curse? The curse of Greg Maddux? Please GOD NOOOOOO! If they can some how win both out there, game 5 in Wrigley would be quite interesting.

I agree completely. One thing I have noticed is how tight the Cubs are playing. They need to have a couple of good things happen for them that will allow them to relax a little bit and hopefully that will help them get back into this series. It won't be easy at all but there is still a lot of hope with Harden and Lilly coming up next for the Cubs.

Whether the players wanna admit it or not, the pressure is definitely getting to each and every one of them. There is no other reason to explain this because they are the more talented team here. Harden and Lilly are the guys to have if we wanna get back in it, but honestly it'll prolly either be 2-0 LA cuz we'll give Rich no support or he'll go 8 shutout innings with a 1-0 lead and Wood will give up a 2 run HR in the 9th, prolly to Manny.
