SOTO IS YOUR NL ROY

Geovany Soto brought home the hardware today as he was crowned the National League's Rookie of the Year.

Geo received 31 out of 32 possible first place votes. The Reds' Joey Votto finished 2nd and received the other first place vote.

Soto hit .285 for the Cubs this year with 23 home runs and 86 RBIs, but I would argue his biggest contribution to the team was the way he handled the pitching staff. He helped turn the careers around of Ryan Dempster and Kerry Wood, as well as catching Carlos Zambrano's no-hitter.

Geo started the All-Star game at Yankee Stadium and won NL rookie of the month in April and August.
